Special Situations

This is who to call when the situation is complicated: when it crosses ownership, operations, capital and people at once, and no single specialist can see all of it.

When the situation does not fit a conventional advisory category.

Some situations have no natural adviser. A family business with an ownership question that is also a succession question that is also a financing question. A cross border expansion where the legal structure, the operating model and the local partner all have to be settled together. A technology that works and cannot be commercialised. An acquisition that only makes sense if the target is restructured first.

JYCO's role in a special situation is to be the adviser who understands the whole of it: to determine what is actually happening, identify the constraint, structure a course of action and, where required, bring the right specialists together and stay through implementation.

What we examine

Before recommending anything.

  • The situation as a whole, before it is divided among specialists
  • The one or two constraints that decide everything else
  • The sequence: what has to be settled first for the rest to be possible
  • Who needs to be in the room, and who does not

Describe the situation. The first conversation is about that, not about a service.
